Shades of Red, Lost Things and A Fine Frenzy

From an old Lula issue I believe, I don't remember which one.

I MISS MY RED HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time I see someone with this flaming red hue it drives me mad because I miss mine so much! I stopped dyeing it when I found out I was pregnant and figured I would go back to it once I had The Kidlet and he was weaned. Fast forward almost 3 years later and I find myself with a thyroid disease and all manner of health issues that make it irresponsible of me to go back to that particular hue of red. I know, I know, some of you might point me toward henna (which is what I started with in my late teens...I've always had an affinity for redheadedness!!!) but it's just not a good enough red, plus, my hair has darkened considerably since high school and henna doesn't lighten hair. I'd have to do some serious damage to my hair (and body) to lighten it up and get the shade I want. Sighhhhh, and so I must share the awesome video that I found from Lara at From Lara!!! It's by Ithyle and music by A Fine Frenzy....I also shared some other pics of people that taunt me with red tresses. When I had the link I posted it, if I didn't post a link and you know it, please rest assured I meant no offense and please do tell where it is from, I don't want to take credit for anything other than the pics when I, myself had a crimson mane.

Lovies and Long Red Locks,

:( I love that shade of red too, sorry you can't go back to fiery red! At least your hair isn't black like mine... haha. Basically impossible to change shades of hair unless I destroy it with bleach.

ps. if you have a minute please check out my blog:

I love red hair but only the darker shades have worked on me but when I look at those pics I think maybe I could pull it off this time:)So gorgeous. Maybe you could get a foil highlight and go home and henna it? Would be complicated though. To answer your questions we have been married a year and tomorrow are going on our second honeymoon. My daughter Bea is 21/2. Just to let you know I'm having my first giveaway on my blog. The post should be up later today.

Lisa, are you enjoying the so called Terrible-twos? They are definitely different but it's been so much fun so far, to see the little brain expand so much from day to day. And the things he says, hysterical!!!

I've been thinking about that highlight and henna idea....I shall have to ponder it a bit more. ARGH! I miss it!

You gals are all so sweet and I feel like a bit of a heel to even have complained about my "no red" plight. There are so many worse things in the world. It just gets under my skin sometimes! ;-)

Hope your Monday is an awesome introduction to a week that flies by and brings you to a lovely weekend! ;-)

oh how I LOVE A Fine Frenzy!! While you are absolutely gorgeous as a brunette I have such an affection for red hair and wow, did it ever look amazing on you!! Your beautiful eyes just POP out of the computer screen in those photos.
You should totally venture into the land of henna and see how it turns out for you. I know how it is to mourn something so seemingly silly but it just isn't fair when we can't have what we want is it?

OMG PATRICK WOLF RED HAIR <3 (feather collar man) I've always wanted to be a redhead (maybe this is my Harry Potter geek/Lily Potter/Ginny speaking) but I'm Asian so anything other than artificial-red would be awkward.
