NO INTERNET!!!

One of the many members of Efterklang.

Heavens to Betsy! I've been without Internet for almost 2 weeks!!! Sorry, I've been MIA but that is the reason. We kept calling AT&T and they just kept giving us the run around. Argh!!! But finally everything is fixed and hopefully I can get back into the routine of blogging again.

New developments:
1. We finished recording and are in the middle of getting packaging and stuff together for the CD. YEAAAA!

2. I am now singing for another friends project, we are going to be recording and having our first show in the next 2 months. I'm excited, it's very different from Sing the Body but it's fun to do different things! I hope I don't choke. I'm skeered! It's electronic and just the two of us so I'm not hiding in a sea of family like I do in Sing the Body. Very vulnerable. :-/

3. We got to drive up to SF and see a band we adooooore on Monday. Still recovering from the sleep deprivation. We drove there to see them and back in one night (although it was 5am by the time we got back...ick) Ify ou've never heard Efterklang I reccomend you go and listen to them immediately!

Other stuff happened whilst we were web-less but I'll have to plan out an actual blog and get that written.

Hope you all find yourselves blessed and joyful!

Shades of Red, Lost Things and A Fine Frenzy

Big Sis and me at a wedding.

Me, Big, and Little Sis'.

I MISS MY RED HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time I see someone with this flaming red hue it drives me mad because I miss mine so much! I stopped dyeing it when I found out I was pregnant and figured I would go back to it once I had The Kidlet and he was weaned. Fast forward almost 3 years later and I find myself with a thyroid disease and all manner of health issues that make it irresponsible of me to go back to that particular hue of red. I know, I know, some of you might point me toward henna (which is what I started with in my late teens...I've always had an affinity for redheadedness!!!) but it's just not a good enough red, plus, my hair has darkened considerably since high school and henna doesn't lighten hair. I'd have to do some serious damage to my hair (and body) to lighten it up and get the shade I want. Sighhhhh, and so I must share the awesome video that I found from Lara at From Lara!!! It's by Ithyle and music by A Fine Frenzy....I also shared some other pics of people that taunt me with red tresses. When I had the link I posted it, if I didn't post a link and you know it, please rest assured I meant no offense and please do tell where it is from, I don't want to take credit for anything other than the pics when I, myself had a crimson mane.

So the other night The Mr. said his eye was bothering him...upon closer inspection we discovered it was swelling. We waited a couple more hours and it got worse. We did hot compresses and it started to bring the swelling down but he had to call a sub for work the next day. It ends up that the school policy makes him have to take a certain amount of time off when there is an eye issue so, although he was basically fine I got to have him off for TWO WHOLE DAYS! We spent time, napping, reading, writing and biking to Echo Street Coffee where my lovely friend from The Cat and the Cow works with her family! Aahhh, it was a lovely couple of days and it was hard to let him go back to work.

I hope you have been having an awesome week....what have some of you lovely people been doing? Spring break is coming too....what are your plans?!?!?!?

So I woke this morning to blue skies, white puffy clouds, shining bright sun...Big Sis, The Kidlet, and The Kidlet's Cousin and I went for a bike ride. It looked like the perfect spring day. We biked to our parents to check on the garden and such... as we were leaving for our ride puffy whiteness started to turn gray and spread across the sky. "It's fine", we though, "now we don't have to worry about getting burned". It was a nice tepid ride and we stopped by the nursery to see if they had spring garden plants in yet...it started getting darker....we made it to our parents and started doing some weeding and picking (the plants are STILL going crazy!!!) and then it started...the first couple drops...so small they were more "droplets"
"It's fine, we'll make it home in a soft little drizzle"

.................................

I really wish I'd taken pictures of us when we got back home....looking like a drowned rat (the kidlet was snug and warm wrapped in towels everywhere but his kissable little face)
The rest of the day continued in a major downpour.

So much for a nice blue sky day! ;-)
